Wonderful menu, with matching fine German wines and great beer, however my favourite meal here is the selection of mini sausages from the kids menu, that are made from Old High German Brätwurst and served with German Mittelscharf mustard and good old Heinz ketchup. 🇩🇪😋

Yesterday after arriving in Venice we had an amazing opportunity to meet up with the acclaimed Venice storyteller and photographer, Marco Secchi who is widely respected in Italy (and other parts of the world) for his editorial, portrait, commercial, travel photography.

Marco kindly showed us around Venice where he grew up as a child, passed on his extensive knowledge to assist us to enhance our travel photography and offered to take some amazing portrait shots in his favourite Venetian locations.

We decided to say goodbye to Florence by treating

We decided to say goodbye to Florence by treating ourselves to a very special dinner at a restaurant that specialises in the service of the famous Floritine Steak.

Traditionally, the meat for Bistecca alla Fiorentina comes from an ancient breed of Tuscan cattle, called the Chianina.

This breed of cattle is known for their incredibly flavorful meat. To highlight the flavor of the meat, the steak is seasoned very simply, just with a little salt and pepper.

In Florence they like to measure their steaks in terms of fingers, and our steak was 4 fingers thick and weighed anything between 1.4kg (or just over 3 pounds).

To compliment our wonderful steak we also indulged in a very good Tuscan Brunello that was expertly served at our table.

Last night we got the opportunity to experience Florence’s rich culinary heritage including the historic wine windows and the finest Tuscan specialties. We indulged in fresh pasta cooked by a local chef & served by a Nona, enjoyed traditional Tuscan zero-waste soup, and other local delicacies, all while exploring Florence’s vibrant nightlife and tasting its rich culture and flavors.

Plus, we had the opportunity to visit a centuries-old wine cellar and sip on innovative Super Tuscan wines and finished with great traditional Florentine gelato.
