We’re always up for a food challenge so I decided to give Las Vegas’s “Heart Attack Grill – Quadruple Bypass Burger Challenge” a go. Here’s what happened…
The Heart Attack Grill was founded by Jon Basso, with the self declared intent of serving “nutritional pornography”, so bad for you it’s shocking.
The idea came aparantly came to him when he writing a marketing thesis about fitness training studios, as he became inspired by stories about his clients cheating on their diets.
Over the past 15 years, The Heart Attack Grill has become a renown American hamburger restaurant in downtown Las Vegas due to its hospital theming, where waitresses (dressed as nurses) take orders (prescriptions) from the customers (who are their patients).
Each patient wears a hospital gown and wrist band before ordering and those who do not finish their meal receive a public paddling by one of the nurses.
The menu is generally themed around items that are exceptionally high in calories and fat including including the “Single”, “Double”, “Triple”, “Quadruple” and “Octuple Bypass” hamburgers that range from 8 to 32 ounces (230 to 910 g) of beef (up to 10,000 calories), all-you-can-eat “Flatliner Fries” that are cooked in pure lard and “butterfat milkshakes,”.
Customers can also order cigarettes, or candy cigarettes for their children and customers over 350 lb (160 kg) in weight eat for free, if they weigh in with a nurse waitress before they start eating.
The Quadruple Bypass Burger challenge offers 9,982 calories of tasty goodness and consists of four half-pound beef patties, twenty strips of bacon, eight slices of American cheese, a whole tomato and half an onion served in a bun coated with lard.
The Quadruple Bypass Burger with 9,982 calories (41,760 kJ) consists of four half-pound beef patties, twenty strips of bacon, eight slices of American cheese, a whole tomato and half an onion served in a bun coated with lard.

The restaurant then rewards customers who finish their Quadruple Bypass Burger, with a personal nurse that puts their patient into wheelchair and then wheels them out to their vehicle.
We’re always up for a “gourmet” meal and a decent food challenge so I decided to give The Heart Attack Grill’s “Quadruple Bypass Burger” Challenge a go.
The video sums up pretty well, what happened…
